PSL rating explained: how to read a face-rating result
If you are looking at a PSL rating, first check which app or rating system produced it. The PSL app, online rating charts, and Lookist reports should not be assumed to share a scale. Read the result's definition and the photo it came from. An appearance rating is not a diagnosis, a prediction of dating success, or a measure of your worth.
Lookist gives you feature explanations alongside the overall appearance report.

PSL is also the name of a face-analysis app. Its public listing describes ratings, coaching, plans, and community features. A page about that app answers a different question from a chart that uses PSL as a label for a rating scale.
If you want to compare the PSL app with Lookist, use our named comparison. If you want to understand a number, find the explanation provided by the system that produced it. A familiar label alone does not establish that two results have the same meaning.
A number needs a defined scale
Before interpreting a rating, check what it claims to describe, what input it uses, and how the scale is explained. A percentile, a score out of ten, and a feature measurement are different formats. One should not be silently substituted for another.
This guide does not offer a PSL-to-Lookist conversion chart. We have no verified shared calibration to support one. Comparing the explanations and the actual workflow is more useful than choosing an app because it returns a higher number.
Read the input as carefully as the output
A result from a face photo depends on what that photo shows. Check the light, camera position, expression, and any edits. A score from a flattering portrait and a score from a harshly lit close-up do not form a controlled comparison.
Use a consistent setup if you want to revisit your own reports. If the scores become more distracting than useful, pause the comparisons and return to the practical goal that brought you to the app.
Choose a useful next step
Lookist separates the face report from the care plan. The report contains 15 appearance scores with explanations. The plan contains basic care tasks and completion records. Neither promises a certain score or a social outcome.
For a product decision, ask whether you want rating detail, styling advice, community features, or help keeping a routine. Our app roundup compares those published features so you can choose around the task you actually want to do.
